Our range of solid Mango wood furniture comes from non-endangered sources in Java where mango wood has been used for generations in the manufacture of furniture. When a tree reaches the end of it’s fruiting life, it is felled and used for it's wood. A sapling is then replanted in its place. The furniture is entirely hand-made using traditional tools and methods, so very little fossil fuel energy is used in its manufacture.
Some of our most unusual pieces of furniture are original Chinese antiques. This is where Richard's passion for furniture started. Mainly constructed in elm, and many with beautiful lacquered finishes, these pieces are all unique in their appearance as they are all constructed and decorated by hand. The pieces are imported by David Bovingdon of Coach House Antiques, the largest furniture trade supplier in the UK. However, David started out as a small business owner himself, importing Chinese Antiques back in the 80's. Although he now exports all over the world and supplies to some of the biggest names in interior design, David always keeps us up right up to date. He will always be excited to show Richard his latest acquisitions and Richard is privelidged to be able to 'cherry pick' the best pieces as soon as they arrive in the country.
